Abstract
1322164 Dismountable tap WALKER CROSWELLER & CO Ltd 14 July 1970 [25 April 1969] 21383/69 Heading F2G A tap 10 (Fig. 2) is connected to a mounting block by a spigot 46 slidingly and sealingly located in a chamber 18 in the block, the chamber being connected to a source of fluid by a lateral inlet 19 (Fig. 3). A control valve 21 is disposed between the chamber and inlet to adjust the flow rate, and a spring pressed valve 30 is held open by the end of the tap spigot 46. When the tap is removed the valve 30 seats against the end 28 of a sleeve 26 to shut the fluid flow from the chamber. An 0-ring 47 in a groove in the tap spigot seals with the base of the sleeve 26. As described, the tap is a mixing tap for hot and cold water, and has two parallel spigots for receipt in respective chambers in the mounting block. Screws 50, engaging a flange on the tap, secure the tap to the mounting block, which is in turn secured to a wall by screws 15. A cover or bezel 51 is provided. The tap may have an extension 42 between the tap body and the spigots, the packing washers 44, 45 having bores for fluid flow and tubular spigots on each face for engaging bores (not shown) in the tap body 39, extension piece 42, and spigot mounting 43. The washer spigots bear 0-rings.
