Abstract

[Also in Division A4] A mixing valve for hot and cold water comprises a manually operated mixing valve 9, 10 for adjusting the combined flow, going to an outlet spout 12, between a shut-off and a full flow position. In each of the hot and cold water inlets 5 there is provided an adjustable restrictor 14, accessible on removal of a plug 16, whereby the pressures of the two streams reaching the mixing valve can be equalized. If the pressure of one stream entering the device is always higher than that of the other, only one restrictor, in the higher pressure inlet, need be provided. The restrictors may shut off the flows completely to facilitate repairs.
