Abstract

1322053 Pressurized dispensing container valve actuators GILLETTE CO 22 Sept 1970 [2 Oct 1969] 45057/70 Heading F1R A valve actuator for a pressurized dispensing container comprises a pivotable member 14, Fig.5, which prior to assembly is joined to a base 12 by frangible webs 43, 44, Fig.2, which are severed during assembly by knife edges 81, (80), Fig.3 (not shown), depending from interior walls 77, 78 respectively, of a cover 16, the walls 77, 78 also having respective notches 88, 89 which on assembly engage a pair of pivot bars 58 so that the member 14 pivots thereabout when force is applied through an aperture 76 to a surface 70 to dispense material through a passage 62 and aperture 74. The base 12 is secured to the container 18 by an annular flange 38 and by bosses (53), Fig.6 (not shown), on the undersurface of a shelf 40, while the cover 16 is retained by ribs 95, 96 engaging the under edges of reduced diameter wall portions 28, (29) respectively, of the base 12. Redundant notches 87, 90 are also provided so that the cover 16 is symmetrical to facilitate ease of assembly.
