Abstract

1321599 Knitting-machines BENTLEY ENG CO Ltd 5 Oct 1970 [4 Oct 1969] 48857/69 Heading D1C A double-cylinder machine for knitting terry fabric includes a top latch guard in two parts 28, 29, the lower one having an upward projection 29b spaced from the upper part, round which terry yarn 34 can be fed to the needles. The arrangement ensures that the out going terry yarnis accurately fed to, and taken by the needles, when the yarn feeder is in its non-active position just prior to cutting and trapping the yarn. The latch guard is thinner than usual so that the terry yarn can be positioned close to the knitting instruments. Ground yarn 33 is fed through a hole 29a.
