Abstract
1321449 Display devices P BERNARD 10 Sept 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 43448/70 Heading G5C A display device carrying two separate inscriptions comprises a base-plate 1 adapted to be connected to a support and having on a front surface at least part of a first inscription 2, 3 the remaining parts 3a, 2a being on two flaps 4, 5 pivotally mounted on the base-plate so that in a first position of the flaps (Fig. 1), the first inscription (90) is displayed and in a second position (Fig. 3) the flaps are superposed over the front surface and display a second inscription (F) on the rear surfaces of the flaps. Preferably, central part la is of extra thickness, as are ends 7, 8 (Fig. 2) and flap 5 has a recess 5c to accommodate the overlapping portion of flap 4 in the second position, so that the inscriptions present flat surfaces in both positions. The flaps may be maintained in either position by fixing means, e.g. press-studs, hooks, pins, self-adhesive means or magnets. The plate may be used for information plates on vehicles or for advertising purposes, notices, and signals, and may be made in one piece of plastics material or the flaps may be hinged separately.
