Abstract
1320939 Ferrites SIEMENS AG 30 Sept 1970 [1 Oct 1969] 46469/70 Heading H1H A manganeze-zinc ferrite is made from an initial composition of 51À25Œ0À5 mol. per cent Fe 2 O 3 ; 23À25Œ1 mol. per cent ZnO; 1Œ0À1 mol. per cent TiO 2 ; sufficient CaO or CaCO 3 to produce 0À05-0À2 wt. per cent CaO in the final ferrite, the remainder being MnO. The Ca compound(s) may be added to a pre-sintered (1050‹ C.) mixture of the other constituents while grinding. The ground mixture may then be compacted, sintered at 1250-1320‹ C. for 2-5 hours in a gas containing up to 5 vol. per cent O 2 , and then cooled over 3-10 hours in a shielding gas such that the gas contains at most 0À05 vol. per cent O 2 . When the temperature is below 1000‹ C. the ferrite has a low instability factor, and a substantially constant temperature coefficient of initial permeability α/Á between -40‹ C. and +100‹ C.
