1332577 Ferrites INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 21 Oct 1971 [29 Oct 1970] 48955/71 Heading H1H In a method of making ferrite material a mixture of 51À8-52À7 mol. per cent Fe 2 O 3 , 29À9-30À4 mol. per cent of MnO, and 16À9-17À1 mol. per cent ZnO form the basic components to which are added one or several of the following oxides: 0-0À10 mol. per cent Ta 2 O 5 , 0-1À15 mol. per cent TiO 2 and 0-0À80 mol. per cent SnO 2 such that the additives do not exceed 1À15 mol per cent and to which calcium may also be added in the proportion of 0À1-0À2% by weight of CaCO 3 , after which the composition is subjected to atomization, calcination, grinding, atomization of the ground powder, pressing into cones and sintering according to the following sequence: (1) the temperature being raised in air at a pressure of between 0À2 and 1 atmosphere at a rate of about 100‹C. per hour, (2) heating at a constant temperature between 1230 and 1330‹ C. for 2-10. hours in nitrogen gas comprising 2-8% by vol. of oxygen, at 1 atmosphere and (c) linearly cooling at a rate between 80 and 160‹ C. per hour while decreasing the oxygen content of the gas.
