Abstract

1320099 Printing apparatus GLANZSTOFF AG 19 April 1971 [3 April 1970] 26159/71 Heading B6C A synthetic sheet material 8 made in imitation of leather receives a brushed-effect surface graining by being passed between a textured cylinder 7, which is coated with an elastomeric material and provided with irregular depressions, and a buffing cylinder 6 which is coated with an abrasive-wax composition. The sheet material 8 is originally dye-coated, but the buffing cylinder partially removes the dye over the higher parts of the textured cylinder 7. Preferably the sheet material 8 is a bonded or non-woven fabric with a surface layer of polyvinylchloride or polyurethane. It may be either poromeric or non-poromeric.
