Abstract

1319994 Roof drainage DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 30 June 1970 [1 July 1969] 41992/71 Divided out of 1319993 Heading E1C A duct member for conveying a fluid, particularly rainwater, through a flat roof, comprises a cylindrical portion formed integrally with an annular flange for resting on a flat surface of the roof, and a thermoplastic plastics sealing foil which is sealingly welded or adhesively bonded to the upper surface of the flange at its inner periphery and extends beyond the outer periphery of the flange, one or more roofing layers being sealed to the foil in overlapping or/and underlapping relationship. In the Fig. 2 embodiment, a water drain comprises upper and lower duct members 43, 53 each having an integral flange 2 to which a plastics sealing foil 19 is sealed at 23, the foil being both overlapped and underlapped by roofing layers 8 to which the foil is sealed. A heat-insulating layer 7 is accommodated between the flanges. An upper part of the structure, comprising retaining pipe 25, graveltrapping ring 26 and screening cover 27 is fitted into the upper duct member and is sealed by a rubber ring 28. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), a single duct member (63) is of bent form to feed a generally horizontal duct (29), the arrangement of the foil (19) and roofing sheets (8) being similar to that for each duct member in the previous embodiment.
