Abstract

1319662 Fuel injection systems SOC DES PROCEDES MODERNES D'INJECTION SOPROMI 7 July 1970 [1 Aug 1969] 32976/70 Heading G1N In a fuel injection control system the amount of fuel injected by each injector is corrected by connecting in parallel with the solenoid of each injector the series combination of at least one diode and an adjustable impedance or two adjustable impedances in parallel. In one embodiment a diode 7, an adjustable resistance 8 and an adjustable capacitor 11 are arranged as shown, Fig.2, the diode 7 being connected to shunt a fraction of the current feeding the solenoid 4a thereby producing a lag in the opening of the injector. In an alternative, Fig. 3 (not shown), the diode is reversed so as to shunt a fraction of the break-induced and current thereby producing a log in the closing of the injector. In a modification, Fig.4, two diodes 7a, 7b are connected as shown with a potentiometer 10 so that the lags in opening and closing the injector are relatively adjustable.
