1318624 Photographic light-sensitive heatprocessable materials EASTMAN KODAK CO 24 Sept 1970 [29 Sept 1969] 45559/70 Heading G2C Photographic light-sensitive silver halide materials which are developed by a dry method and in which the processing involves a heating step, contain in the sensitive layer or in another layer filamentary silver particles to reduce halation. During the heat-processing step the form of the silver filaments is altered and their optical density is reduced. Drydevelopment materials disclosed are i) photo-developable materials which are heated between image and development exposures, as in Specifications 1225526, 1221474, 1158635 and 1158014, or during the development exposure, as in Specification 1123688 and 1059214; ii) photo-thermographic materials in which a thin silver image is intensified by a thermographic composition, as in Specifications 958963, 958962 and 866777; iii) heat-developable materials containing a developing agent which liberates alkali and moisture on heating, as in Specification 1055144; and iv) a dry physical development material (containing a silver salt of an organic acid, a reducing agent and a catalytic amount of silver halide) as in Specification 1110046. The filamentary silver particles absorbs primarly in the blue region of the spectrum and may be supplemented by an organic dye or dye mixture absorbing in the red and/or green regions to provide antihalation protection across the whole spectrum.
