Abstract

1318498 Windscreen cleaning systems L CODELUPPI 12 Jan 1972 [15 Jan 1971] 1417/72 Heading A4F A windscreen cleaning system comprises windscreen wipers, means for delivering washing liquid on to the windscreen, and an electric heater, and thermostat for controlling the temperature of the liquid, the electric heater being operable independently of the liquid delivery means. Washing liquid is supplied from a reservoir 1 by a hand or foot operated pump 2 to discharge nozzles 9, carried by or independent of the windscreen wipers, via a container 5 in which the liquid is heated by a thermostatically controlled electric heater 6. In another embodiment the container 5 is omitted and the heater 6 is provided in the reservoir 1. Alternatively the liquid may be heated by passage through a metal tube through which an electric current is passed, or through a spiral pipe surrounded by an electric resistor in series with the pipe, or electric heating resistances may be placed around the liquid discharge nozzles.
