Abstract

1,001,328. Bottle-washing machines. SEITZWERKE G.m.b.H. Dec. 16, 1963 [Dec. 29, 1962], No. 49504/63. Heading B8T. In a bottle washing machine in which heated liquid after being used for spraying the bottles is returned and gives up its heat to a reservoir 10, the liquid which is pumped to a distributer 18 equipped with spray tubes 19 from the reservoir flows part through a duct 16 having a heater 20 and part through a branch duct 17, a throttle valve 24 controlling the amount of unheated liquid reaching the spray tubes. Bottles are conveyed in the direction of the arrow above the spray tubes. A temperaturesensitive member 25 which dips into the duct 16, or in a modification into the reservoir, controls the throttle valve, e.g. if the temperature of the liquid in the reservoir is high then the sensitive member 25 opens the valve to increase the cross-section of the branch duct so that the liquid reaching the spray tubes is not over heated. The ducts 16 and 17 may join up before reaching the distributer or may connect to opposite ends of the distributer. The heater is supplied with steam from a duct 21 controlled by a temperature probe 23.
