Abstract

997,185. Textile treating apparatus. ARWA HOLDING S.A. March 27, 1962 [March 27, 1961; June 1, 1961; June 16, 1961; Dec. 28, 1961; Jan. 17, 1962; Jan. 19, 1962], No. 11624/62. Heading D1L. [Also in Division B8] Stockings are conveyed (see Division B8) by formers 7 carried by a conveyer chain 42 so as to carry the stockings through a series of finishing operations including dyeing. The formers 7 pass through a spray dyeing chamber 71 in which the dye is recirculated from a reservoir 76 through a filter 82 to jets 77. A by-pass path 90 for the dye is monitored by photo-electric mechanism 88 which controls the adhesion of further dye from a container 97 so as to maintain the correct transparency of the dye. The temperature is controlled by the admission of steam from a line 86 under the control of a thermostat 87. The conveyer links 42 are arranged to assume a concertina-like formation as the formers enter the chamber 71 (Fig. 3, not shown) so that all the formers 7 in the chamber 71 are brought into close proximity with one another.
