Abstract
1468765 Continuous flow water heaters WIGO GOTTLOB WIDMANN & SOHNE KG 23 Dec 1974 [29 Aug 1974] 55582/74 Heading F4A A continuous flow water heater f, Fig. 4, particularly for use in a coffee percolator comprises a cylindrical heating chamber g, Fig. 3, formed in a light metal pressing or casting and having a water inlet and outlet k, e; a tubular electric heating element h being set into an annular groove n about the chamber. As shown a reservoir c supplies water to the heater and hot water is delivered via a riser e to a coffee filter i. A plate l is mounted in the heating chamber spaced from the inlet to cause a resistance to water flow and a thermostat arranged close to the water inlet acts on the heating element. If an excessive temperature rise occurs the current to the heater is cut off by a microfuse responsive to temperature. The heater can be formed from aluminium.
