Abstract

1316703 Pressurized dispensing containers DART INDUSTRIES Inc 19 April 1971 [2 March 1970] 22848/71 Heading F1R In order to relieve excess pressure in a pressurized dispensing container, the valve actuating stem 19 is arranged to abut an actuating member 18, upward movement of which in its inoperative position is prevented by engagement with a lower member 17, so that if the cup 11 carrying the valve 12 is forced upwardly by excess pressure the valve stem 19 is actuated to open the valve. The cup member 11 may return to its original position on relief of excess pressure or remain in a deformed condition; in a further embodiment the cup member is arranged to snap between a valve closed to a valve open position and vice versa. Opening pressure may be controlled by adjusting clearance 34 between the valve stem 19 and actuator 18.
