1316325 Rotary brushes MANUFACTURERS BRUSH CO 5 Oct 1970 [6 Oct 1969] 47158/70 Heading A4K A brush component comprises a bundle of bristles 6 of tampico fibre, plastics, coated wire, wire or nylon, enclosed by a corrugated metal band 5 of Cu, Al or an alloy of Cu. The component may be inserted into a plastics cup-shaped holder (15), Figs.1, 3-7 (not shown), thereby forming a rotary end brush or it may be inserted into an aperture in an annular holder (31) located on a cylindrical hub (32), Figs. 8-10 (not shown), such that the bristles extend radially from the axis of the hub or at an oblique angle to the axis. A toroidal rubber collar as described in U.K. patent Specification 1279645 may be used to prevent splaying of the bristles.
