Abstract
1316306 Electro-photography XEROX CORP 14 Oct 1970 [20 Oct 1969] 48785/70 Heading G2H A toner/carrier developer is passed in turbulent flow along a confined development path at approximately the same speed as an imaging surface on a drum 12 by an oscillating electrically biased arcuate member 15, having vanes 16 and shafts (30, Fig.3) (not shown) eccentrically mounted on pulleys (32), and electrically biased vibrating electrodes 17. The carrier particles are recirculated by passage round the back of the arcuate member, excess toner supplied from a sump 23 through a screen 21, and a controlled quantity of toner removed through screen 21 to a collection chamber 24 and recycled via a transport device 27 to sump 23. The quantity of toner passing into chamber 24 is controlled by application of an electric field across screen 21 by an electrode 25.
