Abstract

1316299 Delivering sheets ADDRESSOGRAPH-MULTIGRAPH CORP 13 Oct 1970 [13 Nov 1969] 48637/70 Heading B8R Apparatus for separating two superimposed sheets, e.g. an original and a copy sheet issuing from a photo-copying machine, comprises devices for advancing the sheets along a path with one of the sheets being moved faster than the other, and means for deflecting the fastermoving sheet from the path. As shown, the original and copy sheets 14, 16 respectively are directed by a guide 78 from the copying machine to the bite of two rollers 58, 60, the roller 58 being driven at a faster speed than the roller 60. The rollers 58, 60 may be rubber-covered or may have staggered rubber rings thereon. As the copy sheet 16 is moved forward at a greater speed than the original 14, its leading edge is deflected away from the sheet 14 by an upward air blast, a fixed roughened curved guide or a roughened rotating roller 84. In the latter arrangement, the roller 84 causes the sheet 16 to bend as shown to aid in deflecting the original below the roller 84. Guides 96, 102 direct the copy sheet to rollers 54, 56 which feed it back into the machine for further processing.
