Abstract
1316233 Fusible cut-outs LITTELFUSE Inc 19 April 1971 [24 Aug 1970] 27153/71 Heading H2G A fuse holder for mounting in a hole in a panel comprises a main body 6 which can be fixed in a panel 2, and a removable fuseholding unit comprising the parts 14 and 25 which retain one end of a fuse 16, the part 25 acting as an electrical terminal member. The fuse-holding unit is inserted in the main body and locked into position by pressing on the vertical surface 12a of the front face of the unit against the action of a spring 80 until a resilient projection 33 on member 25 engages the inner surface of a hole 65 in a contact member 64, the clip being held in the hole by the action of the spring which also connects the corresponding fuse terminal to a contact member 71. With the fuse-holding unit locked in this position the arrangement is such that the front of the unit lies adjacent to the frame portion 10a of the main body, this arrangement being said to not present any convenient shoulder for grasping and pulling the fuse-holding unit from the main body. The fuse-holding unit is removed from the body by depressing an angled portion 12b of the front surface of the unit, which action disengages the projection 33 from the hole 65, permitting outward movement of the fuseholding unit under the action of the spring (Fig. 5, not shown). The main body of the holder may be formed from two generally U-shaped members 44, 44<SP>1</SP>, having grooves into which the contact members 64, 71 are inserted, the construction being held together by a frame member 10, having two resilient projections 97, 97<SP>1</SP> which clip into outer U-shaped channels 46a, 46a<SP>1</SP> in the members 44, 44<SP>1</SP>. Angled portions of these projections may also act as a means for holding the fuse-holder in a hole in a panel (Fig. 2, not shown). The claims also relate to an arrangement of such fuse holders in a panel wherein the front portions of the fuse-holding units and frame members are colour coded for identification purposes (Fig. 1, not shown).
