1315276 Vitamin E powders F HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE & CO AG 23 July 1971 34759/71 Heading A5B Vitamin E powders containing from 40% to 60% by weight of a vitamin E active compound and from 60% to 40% by weight of a hydrolysed gelatin having a molecular weight of from 9,000 to 11,000 and a zero Bloom may be prepared by spray drying an aqueous emulsion containing the vitamin E active compound (e.g. tocopheryl acetate, palmitate or succinate, especially dl-α-tocopheryl acetate) and the hydrolysed gelatin. The powders, which may also contain a flow agent (e.g. silicic acids) and/or an antimicrobial preservative (e.g. sodium benzoate and/or sorbic acid), are used in the preparation of multivitamin tablets and capsules also containing riboflavin, pyridoxic hydrochloride, niacinamide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A acetate, d-calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate, vitamins B 12 and D 2 .
