Abstract

1356097 Mineral salt preparations F HOFFMANNLA ROCHE & CO AG 23 Feb 1973 [25 Feb 1972] 9054/73 Heading A5B Mineral salt preparations having delayed electrolyte release for the continuous replacement of mineral salts lost by bodily stress and increased transpiration as well as by the use of diuretics, comprises a matrix suitable for imparting slow-release characteristics and in the form of salts 5 to 80 parts by weight of calcium, 5 to 40 parts by weight of magnesium. 2 to 20 parts by weight of potassium and no sodium of less than 20 parts by weight of sodium; the calcium, magnesium and sodium constituting more than 10% by weight of the preparation. The salts may be the appropriate halides, sulphates, phosphates, glycerophosphates, tartrates, citrates or ascorbates. A preferred preparation contains calcium and magnesium glycerophosphates and sodium and potassium chlorides. The preparations may be administered orally in the form of tablets, drage s or capsules and may also contain vitamins C, B 1 and B 6 and/or citric acid. The tablets may have a matrix of natural or synthetic material such as wax, e.g. hardened castor oil. [GB1356097A]
