1315195 Boots &c INDUSTRIEWERKE LEMM & CO GmbH 8 July 1970 [8 July 1969] 33190/70 Heading A3B An anti-slip boot or shoe sole 1, particularly for use on muddy ground, has projections 3 which are wedge shaped in plan and which extend from the lateral sole edges 5 substantially at right angles to the orthopaedic axis 7 and at least as far as the latter. The apices of the wedges 3 preferably overlap and the wedges 3 are offset in the longitudinal direction so that a zig-zag shaped groove 10 is formed between the projections. A groove 8 may be formed down the center of each wedge 3. The toe and heel ends of the sole are provided with solid projections 11, 12 and a laterally extending bar 15 is formed across the front end of the heel tread surface. Projections 18 are formed between the breast face of the heel 16 and the shank 17 which afford protection against damage by a spade.
