Abstract

1315007 Valves MAGYAR TUDAMANYOS AKADEMIA AUTOMATIZALASI KUTATO INTEZET 12 May 1970 [12 May 1969] 22989/70 Heading F2V In a flow control valve having a closure member 3, a closure member stem 4, and a control housing 8, 11, the stem 4 is connected to a diaphragm 10 which carries a magnetic element 14 and which is acted upon in the closing direction by a spring 12. The lower portion 8 of the control housing has connected thereto and disposed therein a permanent magnet 13. In operation, the force required to maintain the valve in its closed state is provided primarily by the attraction between the magnet 13 and magnetic element 14. Opening of the valve is effected by applying a fluid under pressure to control housing port 9. In modifications, not shown, both the upper and the lower portions 11, and 8, respectively, of the control housing may have control pressure ports and the permanent magnet may be replaced by an electromagnet.
