Abstract

1314857 Printing apparatus MILLER PRINTING MACHINERY CO 18 June 1970 [20 June 1969] 28779/72 Divided out of 1314856 Heading B6C A gripper apparatus, which in use is part of a cylinder of a printing press, comprises a gripper finger 80, solid with a member 78, which is rotatably mounted on a shaft 42, and biasedby a spring 96 which extends between a flange 84 on the member 78 and a flange 76 on a second member 74 which is non-rotatably mounted on the shaft 42. The spring 96 urges the finger 80 towards an abutment 82, causing the gripper constituted by the finger and abut- -ment to remain closed unless engagement of a cam follwed 60 with a cam surface 57, brought about by displacement of the shaft 42 in consequence of relative movement between a cam 26 and a cam follower 46, causes them to open.
