Abstract

Differential governors; maintaining the speeds of engines constant.-Consists in means for maintaining the speeds of one or more motors constant with regard to some moving mechanism, which may be itself a motor, in which the controlling- mechanism and the motors generate pressures, the differences between which are used to control the motors. In the Figure, a is a motor driving a centrifugal pump c, and b is a motor, the speed of which is to be maintained constant with regard to the motor a. The motor b also drives a centrifugal pump c, and the pressures created by these two pumps act on pistons h connected together and to a lever i operating the speed-controlling device of the motor b. By means of valves f the pressures in the two pipes g are adjusted. A reciprocating-pump or other pressureproducing means may replace the centrifugal pump.
