Abstract

1313173 Loose covers PHRIX-WERKE A G 14 May 1970 [16 May 1969 28 June 1969] 23512/70 Heading A4M [Also in Division D1] Stretch covers for furniture, mattresses or pillows are made of a fabric which comprises a crinkled yarn in the warp and/ or weft whereby the fabric is stretchable in one or both directions. The crinkled yarn, produced by knitting a tubular fabric, fixing and then unravelling it, is preferably of synthetic fibres such as polyamides or polyesters. Inelastic yarns may also be used in the warp and weft. In an example, a plain woven fabric was used consisting of polyacrilonitrile yarn and a polyamide - 6 crinkled yarn in both warp and weft, the fabric being elastically stretchable to 1À5 times its original length in both directions.
