Abstract

A knit is formed with one face formed by unshrunk high bulk yarn, and the other face by synthetic tectured yarn, and pref. heat treated to shrink the high bulk yarn. The latter yarn pref. comprises acrylic fibres 85-120 mm long, and contains 60% contracted fibres and 40% uncontracted fibres. The textured yarn may be polyamide or polyester and pref. two yarns are used one having S-direction twist and the other having Z-direction twist. The fabric has a soft touch and good covering characteristics.
