Abstract

1312472 Delivering sheets BONNIERFORETAGEN AB 23 April 1970 [24 April 1969] 19657/70 Heading B8R A stream of overlapped newspapers being conveyed by endless belts from an infeed section 16 to one of two outfeed sections 18, 19 by a pivoted intermediate conveyer section 17 movable between two positions about a shaft 35 by an air cylinder 34a is temporarily interrupted when upper and lower clamp members 22, 21 carried on pairs of arms 25, 23 are brought together, the lower members being raised from below to above the conveying means of the conveyer 17 so as to raise the stream into contact with the upper members, which move downwards. The clamp members are brought together by the operation of an air cylinder 33 and a link 31, the cylinder 33 being co-ordinated with the cylinder 34a and with a counter for the newspapers. The clamping device is mounted on side members 28 carried on the section 17. The stream is thus momentarily interrupted to create a gap therein, when the section 17 is to be moved to its alternative position. The upper clamping members 22 may be stationary. The section 17 may alternatively be stationary and there may be only one outfeed section, in which case the clamping members are operated after the passage of a predetermined number of newspapers.
