Abstract

1311522 Variable speed gears; toothed gearing BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [5 March 1970] 10532/70 Headings F2D and F2Q A variable speed gear comprises a first train, Fig. 1 (e.g. a chain sprocket driven ring gear 1 driving planet pinions 2 with eccentric masses 10 rotatable on an output carrier 3 engaging a reversible one-way ratchet brake 4) transmitting torque applied thereto as pulses to the sun gear 6 of a second gear train, meshing with planet pinions 11 mounted on an output carrier 7 (e.g. driving a chain sprocket 12) and meshing with a ring gear 8 having a resilient connection 9 to a fixed point.
