Abstract
1308635 Rotary piston machines DANFOSS A/S 17 June 1970 [19 June 1969] 29372/70 Heading F1F An hydraulic pump, or motor, comprises a gear wheel 15 intermeshing with a fixed ring having rollers 16 defining teeth, the wheel 15 being linked to a drive shaft 11 by a universaljoint shaft 14, and to a rotary-disc distributing valve 35 by a universal joint shaft 36, bearing axially against an abutment 37 on which the valve is mounted and which is fixed relative to the outer ring, to prevent axial movement of the shaft 36. Each chamber formed between the rollers 16 communicates alternatively via axial passages 33, 34 and passages 38 or 40 in the valve 35, with annular recesses 39 and 41 in an end plate 8 and hence with an opening 28 and an opening 29. Annular recesses 42, 43 in the face of the valve 35 remote from the recesses 39, 41, and recesses 44 in the end plate opposite each passage 34 and supplied with pressure fluid by passages 45 associated with each passage 38, 40 ensure that the valve 35 is pressure balanced. Each roller 16 is sealed by an axially extending radial plate 21 which is spring- and/or pressure-biased. The machine is reversible, and dual paths associated with non-return valves are provided for supplying the plates 21 with high-pressure liquid, and for the return of leakage fluid in chambers 46, 47, 48 to the low pressure opening.
