1307874 Shredding apparatus; roller-andbreast mills ILFORD Ltd 20 May 1971 [8 June 1970] 27619/70 Heading B2A Shredding apparatus, particularly for shredding flocculates in the manufacture of photographic emulsions, comprises a hopper 1 to feed material to an enclosed channel 2, a rotor 3 having an array of upstanding pegs 4 on its surface arranged in the channel 2 to cooperate with a fixed array of pegs 5 on a side of the channel 2, by interdigitation of the pegs, means, e.g. a comb 10 to remove shreds of material from the rotor pegs, and means 11 to receive the shredded material from the rotor. The rotor is driven by a motor 12 and chain drive 13.
