Abstract

1307194 Vices G H ROHM 19 Oct 1971 [20 Oct 1970] 48568/71 Heading B3B A workpiece clamping or carrying device comprises a base-plate 3 having in cross-section two spaced leg portions 7, 8, a slide 1 mounted on the leg portions for relative sliding movement longitudinally thereof, a spindle 2 and spindle nut 5 for effecting the sliding, the inner facing surfaces of the leg portions including mutually facing guide grooves 11 receiving guide portions 12 of the spindle nut, and a pin 14 disposed in a bore 6 in the base-plate and biased, by a spring 13, toward a position in which it engages in a recess formed in one of said guide portions to prevent relative movement between the slide and base-plate. The pin slides in a bush 19 and has a transverse shaft 24 that engages in slots 25 in the bush to limit movement of the pin. A handle portion 26 enables the pin to be disengaged. The bush is locked by screw 23.
