Abstract

1307022 Supply systems for inductive loads LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS GmbH 10 June 1970 [13 June 1969] 28138/70 Heading H2H [Also in Division H3] To protect a triac 2 from the rapid rise in voltage which would occur across it when it interrupts the current to an inductive load 1, the rate of rise is decreased by providing a saturable reactor 3 in series and an RC circuit 4, 5 in parallel with the triac. The voltage rise is delayed while the magnetization of the reactor reverses. The RC circuit provides the magnetization current for the reactor.
