Abstract
1,205,318. Electric control of brakes. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 23 Aug., 1968 [31 Aug., 1967], No. 40331/68. Heading F2E. [Also in Divisions H2 and H3] A circuit provides for rapid de-energization of an eddy-current brake 10 which is pulse-fed from a battery 13 via a main switch 12 and a thyristor 14 (see Division H3) under control of a potentiometer 24, and which has a free-running diode 25 maintaining the inductive current in the load 10 between pulses. To shorten the decay time when the switch 12 is opened the diode 25 is arranged as shown to be disconnected thereby, and the inductive energy of load 10 is dissipated in a resistor 26 in series with a second diode 27 connected as shown.
