[Also in Group XXXVI] Apparatus for recording the distribution of ferrous particles along the length of a non- ferrous electric conductor comprises a thyratron, to the grid of which is supplied the output of ferrous particle detection apparatus (see Group XXXVI), said output consisting of unidirectional pulses which render the thyratron conductive, thus energizing a relay in its anode circuit to operate an electromagnetic plunger device 27, member 28 of which advances axially to punch a hole in the periphery of a circular record card 30 which is continuously rotated by a synchronous motor 31.
