Abstract
1306888 Floor cleaning ELECTROLUX Ltd 12 Aug 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 37919/71 Heading A4F A device for applying foamed cleaning liquid to a floor includes a part 27 which may be swung out from a position within the device (Figs. 2) to a position in which the device may be stood on a horizontal surface Figs.3, the handle 12 then being almost vertical. Compressed air from a vacuum cleaner exhaust is applied via handle 12 Fig. 1 (not shown), to a tube 14 immersed in cleaning liquid in a container 13. The resulting cleaning foam passes through overflow valve 19, down tube 20 and along distributing channel 21. If the device is connected by mistake to a source of suction, check valve 22 prevents cleaning liquid being sucked out of container 13, and a whistle in the handle gives a warning. Valve 24 prevents cleaning liquid from leaving container 13 if the device is upended. The part 27 cf also Fig.5, (not shown) includes a pair of slides 30, and carries one of the cleaning brushes 25, 26. Foamed plastics material 36 is provided to absorb any cleaning liquid which runs out from pipe 20 when the device is in its standing position as in Fig.3.
