Abstract

1291138 Apparatus for cleaning floors, carpets &c. W BRYCKI 19 April 1971 [25 March 19701 14367/70 Addition to 1121225 Heading A4F The cleaning device forming the subject of the parent Specification is modified in that the liquid supply reservoir 11 is adapted in use to act as a float valve to close the inlet 4 of the suction tube 6 connecting the container 1 to a source of suction, whereby when the liquid collected in the container 1 reaches a predetermined level dependent upon the amount of liquid, if any, in the reservoir 11, the inlet is closed so that suction is no longer applied at the nozzle 18. The illustrated device is also modified in that the source of suction is provided in a recess 10 in the bottom of the container 1, and that a valve, comprising a plate 40 tilted by a spring 42 to compress the flexible liquid supply tube 19, cuts off the liquid supply to the nozzle 18 when the suction thereat is discontinued.
