1305690 Wire guided missiles STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 15 July 1971 33189/71 Heading F3A [Also in Divisions B3 D1 and H1] A circular elongate insulated conductor, e.g. of copper polythene insulated for the control of a wireguided weapon is closely wound in a helical multilayer coil for control payout; the windings being impregnated with wax or other viscous material, e.g. polyisobutylene or water based emulsion. For easy impregnation the insulant has one or more longitudinal grooves which may also take helical paths.
