Abstract

1304216 Coating with lanthanum boride by spraying GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 24 April 1970 [30 April 1969] 19811/70 Heading C7F [Also in Division H1] A substrate of e.g. Ta, W, Ni, Re or Mo is coated with lanthanum boride by plasma spraying, e.g. using a plasma of 85% to 95% by volume, of argon, helium or nitrogen and 5 to 15% of hydrogen. The substrate which may be a strip, wire, cylinder, disc or rod for use as a cathode for electron discharge, may be first washed and then sandblasted.
