Abstract

1304123 Hot gas engines UNITED STIRLING AB & CO KB 27 Aug 1971 40210/71 Heading F1S The invention relates to an assembly of heater heads for a hot gas engine and comprising a plurality of pipes 5 providing connections between respective high temperature working chambers 3 and regenerators 7, 7<SP>1</SP>. The pipes in each of the heater heads extend substantially parallel to each other each of the pipes extending horizontally between two respective substantially vertically extending manifold 4, 6 one of which is connected to a respective high temperature working chamber and the other of which is connected to a respective regenerator. The pipes are of arcuate shape with their centres of curvature upon a common vertical axis. Each cooler 8, 8<SP>1</SP> is flexible to allow sideways movements of the top of the cooler.
