Abstract

1,263,048. Multi-cylinder Stirling engines. UNITED STIRLING (SWEDEN) KOMM AB & CO. Oct.31, 1970, No.51878/70. Heading F1S. The invention relates to a multi-cylinder Stirling engine in which each piston acts as a power piston and a displacer simultaneously. According to the invention the engine is constructed as a V-engine having a single crank-shaft with heat exchanger units equal in number to the cylinders disposed between the cylinders 12-15, a heat exchanger unit being located between each two respective adjacent cylinders. A single heater unit 4 is disposed centrally relative to the cylinders and the heat exchangers, the heater unit extending downwardly so as to partly overlap the cylinders and heat exchangers in the vertical direction.
