Abstract

1302422 Spray carburetters NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 2 Sept 1970 [9 Sept 1969] 41916/70 Heading F1B In a carburetter 12 having a main mixture circuit 18, 32, 34 and an idling and slow-running mixture circuit 20, 24, 26, 36 communicating with the float chamber 22 through a fuel jet 30, a valve element 38a with a passage 38c therein obstructs the jet unless a temperature which is a function of the engine temperature is below a certain value. The valve element 38a may be moved against the bias of a spring 44c when the temperature sensed by a detector at the carburetter, in the intake air cleaner, or in the engine cooling liquid opens a switch 42 in the circuit of a solenoid 44a. In a second embodiment, Fig.2 (not shown), the valve element (38<SP>1</SP>a) is spring-biased against a series of curved bimetal strips (56c) which decrease in curvature with rise in temperature to permit the spring (54) to move the valve element to obstruct the jet 30.
