Abstract
1302288 Anodizing aluminium HENKEL & CIE GmbH 24 July 1970 [2 Sept 1969] 35957/70 Heading C7B Anodized Al or Al alloy surfaces are treated at between 15 and 100‹C. with a solution containing (e.g. 0À1-50 g/l) dextrin, preferably having a viscosity of 50-400 cP in 50% solution at 20‹C., prior to sealing e.g. by hot or boiling water or steam. Alternatively sealing may be effected simultaneously with the treatment solution optionally containing Ni acetate. Comparison solutions are specified containing glucose, saccharose, starch, carboxymethyl or hydroxyethyl cellulose. Al alloys are specified containing: 5% Si; 3% Mg; and 0À5% each of Mg and Si. Anodizing may be effected in solutions containing H 2 SO 4 with or without oxalic, sulphophthalic or sulphanilic acid.
