Abstract

1301763 Valves DAIMLER-BENZ AG 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 26352/71 Heading F2V Thermostatic valve e.g. for the cooling water circuit between the engine and radiator of a motor vehicle, includes a first valve member 11 controlling flow e.g. between inlet 3 from the engine and outlet 1 to the radiator, and a second valve member 16 controlling flow e.g. between inlet 3 and an outlet 2 to then cooling water pump, this short circuiting the radiator. The first valve member at least cooperates with a sharp knife-edged seat 18. This seat is made in a high-strength non- oxidizing material such as nickel-chrome steel. The seat material may be deposited on a support plate 7. A band of similar material (22), Fig. 2 (not shown), may be deposited on the valve member (11) where it engages the seat.
