Abstract

1301021 Ionisation gas detectors P SEWERIN H SEWERIN and W SEWERIN [trading as HERMANN SEWERINJ 2 Jan 1970 312/70 Heading G1N In flame ionisation apparatus for detecting gas leakages in the ground, a gas-impermeable cover 11, having sufficient flexibility to make the control part thereof vertically movable, seals off a surface area of the ground, the chamber 13 thereby formed being connected via a filter 15 to a pump mounted in a case 20 on the frame 1, the gas then being conveyed to a flame ionisation detector 8, or a flame ionisation detector connected by a pipe 24 and a plug 23. As shown, the dome 14 of the cover 11 is a flexible rubber sheet. In an alternative, Fig. 2 (not shown), there is provided a portable apparatus, the gas - impermeable cover being formed as an inverted funnel.
