Abstract

1334579 Heat fixing devices FUJI XEROX CO Ltd 29 Dec 1971 [29 Dec 1970] 60470/71 Heading G2H A heat fixing device 10 includes a detector 22 which, on detecting a fire, switches off infrared lamps 14, opens a valve 24 so that carbon dioxide is fed from a cylinder 15 to nozzles 17 to form a curtain of gas, and energizes a blower 19 which draws the gas from the curtain and through the fixer housing to extinguish the fire. Nozzles 17 may be provided both at the inlet and the outlet of the fixer housing, Fig. 3 (not shown).
