Abstract

1300674 Hammer mills AMERICAN PULVERIZER CO 17 Feb 1971 4867/71 Heading B2A Ring hammers 30 carried on shafts 28, Fig. 1, arranged between arms 26 of adjacent spiders 22, the spiders being driven by a shaft 20 in a housing 4 which includes a grate 18. Each ring hammer has a circular centre bore 32, Fig. 2, outwardly-projecting circumferentialy-spaced teeth 38 and connecting segments 44 between the teeth, each segment at its radially outermost end face being axially narrower than the outermost ends of the teeth connected thereby. Each bore 32 has a larger diameter than the shaft 28. The teeth have cutting edges 43 beyond the connecting segments extending transversely of the respective hammer.
