Abstract

1337124 Soil tilling implement H W DREYER [trading as HEINRICH WILHELM DREYER] 30 Nov 1970 [1 Dec 1969 31 Aug 1970] 56876/70 Heading A1B A soil tilling implement comprises a driven shaft, a plurality of hubs fast with the shaft each at an inclined angle to it, and a soil tilling tool mounted for free rotation about each hub. The hubs may be mounted concentrically or eccentrically on the shaft and may all be inclined at the same angle or at different angles to the shaft and to each other. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 the hubs are set out symmetrically about the centre line of the implement to balance the forces on the shaft. In the form of mounting shown in Figs. 6, 10 tines 42 have inner ends of square cross-section clamped between a ring 39 fast with freely rotatable portion 36 and a removable retaining ring 41. The portion 36 is supported via roller bearings 37 on an inclined hub 32 fast with a driven shaft 10. The outer ends of the tines are shown as all lying in the plane of the inner ends 43 but the outer ends of some or all of the tines can be bent out of this plane (Fig. 9, not shown). A further soil engaging element 47, Fig. 10, can be provided to move the soil sideways and takes the form either of an annular disc or of individual ring segments spaced around the hub.
