731,109. Universal joints. AMERICAN FLEXIBLE COUPLING CO. March 18, 1953, No. 7541/53. Class 80 (2). In a shaft coupling in which involute teeth 1 on a sleeve 2 mesh involute gear teeth 4 on hubs 3 the faces 12 of the teeth 4 are convex in an axial direction and the tips of the teeth are bevelled at 11. The tips 5 are spherical and engage the root faces 7 of the teeth 1.
